This cuben is still sitting under my desk, drop me a line if you need more info or if there's any interest.

Re: Foil bubble wrap sources
Just wondering if the bubble wrap arrived okay MoneySpacePilot? It's been a few weeks and I like to check delivery times so I can get an idea of shipping times.

Re: Foil bubble wrap sources
I get if from work, our paint (that comes from Germany) gets wrapped in it when it gets cold.
I can post you some, work picks up the tab for postage anyway. PM me your address and I'll send some over.

Re: Foil bubble wrap sources
I've got a sheet under my desk at work if it helps, it's the last of the stuff I sent out earlier in the year (or was it late last year).

Yup,
I'm a can't stop pedalling type of guy too for pretty much the same reasons. Even when I know the route really well I still want to push on and carry the adventure on.

Re: Should I have said something?
Must be a Matt thing Matt, I'm exactly the same; the ticks, the twitching, the involuntary bike maintenance. The brother-in-law has a pie plate left on his carbon framed, BB30 bottom bracketed, Ultegra equipped road bike and every time I mention it he gets moody and hides the bike from me. I'm freak...

Re: Is your frame bag affected by cross winds?
I've used mine, along with a seat bag, in some fairly stiff cross winds and it only affects the bike slightly more, not much though. I've heard some people hypothesise it's because it's between the tyre contact points so it acts on them both equally or something like that anyway. You could always pu...

[quote=.anyone broken one yet ????????[/quote] Yup, I've got a mystery puncture on one of mine, tried to sort it twice but just can't be arsed now as I use my short one all the time. Be aware they need special patches compared to the other Thermarests which look suspiciously like large Park patches...

Re: Neoair
Yup, What Mark said. If you over inflate you'll tend to roll of it, less air makes it even more comfortable. I don't sleep with a pillow, just my ear next to the material and it's not that noisy. I find it a bit cooler than other Thermarests which is mostly an advantage seeing as I hardly ever camp ...

No worries, take your time, I won't be using it as I've got a cuben Grace tarp now anyway.

Re: FS (pending interest) Cuben fabric
Ok, cuben is found and measured; it's in two sheets, minimum size of each sheet is 130cm x 170cm (there's more than that but that's with seam allowance/wastage of around 5cm). PM me for a pic if interested (although it just cuben so not much to see really). I'm looking for £50 for both sheets which ...

Re: My Ti Lynskey has cracked!
Christ people talk bollocks about welding tubes! How many people have welded tubing? These guys are frame builders by trade, I welded a rotten VW together and built a roll cage, plenty of heat sink products out there to manage heat build up when welding. The main issue with welding Ti will be using...

Re: My Ti Lynskey has cracked!
I know I'm going to sound like a misery or a troll but I'd be a bit concerned about a rewelded frame, most frames break at the heat affected zone near the weld (when seam welded tubes don't fail) so applying even more heat would make me nervous. Just my tuppence worth, feel free to ignore me (the mr...

You can also try http://www.geograph.org.uk/ it's aim is to take a picture for every grid square on Ordnance Survey maps. It's also got a quiz for map geeks, I find it quite entertaining but then I'm a map geek.
Can handy for planning routes when Google Maps won't show you off road stuff.

Re: FS (pending interest) Cuben fabric
Just found an email telling me I paid £99.81 for 3.7 linear metres and weighs 25g per square metre.
Guess 50 quid or so would be fair. Obviously I'll post measurements once I've dug the cuben out.

Cool,
I'll dig it out this evening and let you know. I do remember it's the "steath breen" so it's a greeny brown colour rather than bright white.
Speak soon,

FS (pending interest) Cuben fabric
Seeing the cuben thread elsewhere I thought I might as well flog some fabric I've got, I'll need to check what size, weight and what I paid for it is (fingers crossed I can find the thread on BPL). From memory it's two pieces that would make a one man tarp with the join on the ridge line. If anyone ...

Re: Anyone experimented with crank lengths?
I always thought that crank length was more of a bike fit thing that depended on your femur length so you knee was in the right position. The Knee Over Pedal school of thought has never worked for me though, makes my arthritis play up. 170-175mm cranks on an 18-19" frame is fine for me (5'10&qu...

Re: Ritchey CPR-9 Multitool :-(
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this little fella is ok Ian! The torx bit you mentioned sounds interesting, where'd you get one of those?
It's not a workshop tool by any means, I'd say it's a light tool for occasional trail use when an "emergency" arises.

Not a lot of love the for the CPR-9 then  Do Hope still use alu bolts? Yeah, I'd probably not risk using on them if that's the case. Re: Ritchey CPR-9 Multitool :-(
Hi Anthony, I've a big fan of it because it's so compact and light. I just measured the width to them to check what mine's like and the 6 and 5mm are spot on with 4.5mm of paint rubbed off from use on the 5mm one (guess I don't use the 6mm one much). The 4mm one is about 1/20 of a mm undersize and h...
