Re: That Tent Question
In light of the problems you’ve had with your Durston, have you taken that up with Durston and have you had any response? (I think I read that they are normally excellent with their customer service/feedack). Do you think you were just unlucky and got a duff one? So, I guess the issue will be close...

Re: That Tent Question
Regarding Durston X-Mid: We've used ours on about 25 nights and the zips are already failing. Not the easy fix failure, but the one where you actually have to replace the whole thing since it's fraying along the full length. The mesh fabric is showing use much faster than any other mesh I ever expe...

Re: Spot Tracker Wanted thread.
Hi, Has anybody got a spot tracker or Ireach that I could borrow/hire for a trip from 17/4-1/5? Obviously happy to pay towards your costs of subscription, postage etc. If I was to borrow an Ireach, what are the best airtime options and costs for a short trip ie less than a month? I might be able to ...

Not sure about the comment on BiTex hubs here:- (cos I assume at this price they'll be cheap rubbish Bitex) Always found them very good, seals keep the poo out, easy to service & amazing quick freehub pick-up + considerably cheaper than competitors. I did a reasonable amount of research last ye...

Ok, I have now booked my return flights :-bd . I'm arriving late in Alicante on Wed 17/4 and will book some accomodation there for that night. Next day I will sort the bike out and then start the mostly off road route to Valencia. Duncan told me that there is often a strong wind at this time of year...

Cycle Travel route planner for off road trails? Comments?
Hi, I'm keen to know if anyone here has experience of using the Cycletravel website/app to create off road routes. I've seen quite a few comments on FB etc from cyclists who rate it very highly but would appreciate your feedbackcomments esp. in terms of the off road routes the planner creates. You c...

Hi,
What airport are you flying to?
I'm in Southampton and interested but need to decide whether to explore this area of Spain or go to Jordan which is also an option.

Re: Montanas Vacias anyone?
I'm watching with interest as this is something that I have been wondering about doing about the same time next year. I cycled the Camino del Cid across Spain last year and some of that seemed very remote without seeing anybody for hours on end but I believe this is so remote you could possibly go a...

Re: Waterproof Overshoes in a hurry - suggest some!
Anybody able to recommend some nylon type overshoes ? Although I have some nice ones made out of a neoprene type material, I really miss my Aldi nylon type overshoes as they were so quick to put on and off and kept the worse off the weather and mud off. They were very thin so not the best for warmth...

Rim advice please
Hi I’m looking at a rear wheel build and was considering a Kinlin TL29 rim, 29” and 32H to match my front wheel. They are currently in short supply and can’t get a Matt black one unless it has eyelets, so my wheel builder at the club has offered me a DT Swiss M502 as an alternative. Any experience/c...

Re: Bargain Alert Thread
Heads up for bargains on the Madison CC website. Their kit is pro quality and criminally underrated. I've got their interpretations of a Castelli Gabba/Perfetto for about 25 quid each - normal RRP is around 90 quid. What do they call their Castelli gabba equivalent or do you have a link? Andy

Re: Pedalcell shutting down
Whilst I'm no expert on such systems I always doubted whether the Pedalcell could really cope with muddy off road conditions, despite the assurances that it could. If it was so good, I very much doubt the company would be closing and I never really heard much about them apart from write ups from the...
