Re: Hate to bring it up again but ...
Anyone can come up with self justification to break the rules, bottom line is that everyone has to do their bit in order to protect themselves and others ......... they haven't which is why we are all paying the price. I've started riding in Puddletown Forest which has some great downhill trails but...

Lejog 2020
Originally planned as a mostly off road trip following the GB Duro route of the GB Divide. Ended up as more of a cycle route and gravel trip taking around 13 days. Tough in places but enjoyed every minute of it and the weather was perfect! Route and stats on my Komoot profile; https://www.komoot.com...

SQlab 602 Ergolux Active Infinergy 2.0 Saddle
I bought this saddle for a bike tour just last week and whilst it's better than my previous one, I'm still looking for the ideal saddle. It's a 14 cm width saddle which is a fairly common size, but best check your sit bone width to make sure (sit bone width plus 3 cm for this style of trekking saddl...

Re: Trans Cambrian Way?
Just completed this last week (for the second time as I did it in last years HOT summer). Carried camping gear again and stashed it in Rhyader as we stayed at The Bluebell Inn in LLangurig on the second night (far more civilised especially as it rained continuously for the last day). This is a great...

Gower Loop
Did this a couple of weeks back http://www.bikepacking.com/routes/gower-bikepacking-loop/ highly recommended! My GoPro mount broke so hence the lack of decent footage in the (thankfully short vid) ... that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9AXnCmD4SrQ&t=6s

Re: Trans Cambrian Way
Have you considered doing it backwards? Dyfi junction is a total anti-climax, there's nowt there. Knighton has shops and feels more like a destination. Also, W to E will likely put the wind at your back and remove the draggy grassy climbs out of Knighton. Hmmm ... hadn't considered it TBH. I've got...

Planning a week or so of cross country/downhill/bike packing (not all on the same bike) I'm spending a day riding Forest of Dean then a day at Bike Park Wales. If I survive the downhill mayhem I'm heading to over for a short overnighter on the Gower Loop http://www.bikepacking.com/routes/gow...

Re: Our Highland Trail 550 write up.
Good work men! The scenery looks stunning and I'm sure the riding was every bit as hard as it looks!! Looking to do this next year in early May when the midges are (hopefully) fewer. Thanks for sharing and amazing effort by your lad

Hi Bluewheeler. Joe and I did the Ruta via de la Plata this April. I couldn't see much to recognise in your video but maybe I didn't look hard enough! http://www.weirdosonbikes.com/2018/06/04/spain-c2c-part-2-seville-to-astorga/ Probably a combination of the off road gpx files and getting lost! :ro...

Ruta De La Plata
Just spent the last 3 days cycling from Seville to Caceras. Bit of a brutal journey if I'm honest as I should have allowed more time. Met some guys along the way who were riding from Salamanca to Zafra (North to South) which from the sound of it is a far better choice. I've recorded a video blog alo...

Coleman Exponent Avior 2 Tent £75
I've only ever pitched this in the garden to try it out (bought on fleabay secondhand) but can confirm that it's in excellent condition with no rips or tears. It's marketed as a two person tent but in reality it's more like a 1.5 Plenty of room for one person and ample storage space with the seperat...

Re: Forclaz ultralight trekking tent
I'll try and be of more practical help this time ... for an additional £40 you could buy a Force 10 Helium. A superb tent that weighs just over a kilo but can be tweaked to weigh just under, which in my mind puts it into the realm of real ultralight tents. https://www.alloutdoor.co.uk/tents/tents-/...

Anyone heard of Forclaz tents? At 1.6 kg and a small pack size they seem like a good deal?
