Re: John Muir Way on 700/32s?

Not been along some bits of the way this year but it’s definitely doable on the 32s I would think. Small bits maybe not as fun as they would be on something bigger but would think it would still be rideable.

Re: Bivvy a Month 2025

March bivy sneaked in just before the end of the month and the first with my dog. Nice short pedal up from the house to my usual spot to sit and watch the sunset followed by a rather enjoyable Sunday night away from the usual Monday morning work panic. Made sure I had lots of stuff to keep the dog c...

Re: Your Youtube channel and favourites.

Not really a fan of most YouTube things as they seem to be all about the fastest, highest, best and mostly paint a picture that they want you to see. Allen’s stuff is pretty good and honest.

Re: Under-biked, over-biked, bimbling free …

For me being over or underbaked isn’t a major problem I would rather have a reliable bike that I had confidence would last the distance and be 10mins slower down some single track than a FS that falls to bits half way round. For most multi day trips I tend to ride my rigid with the biggest tyres I c...

Now needing to make it up to the Mrs since she was left in the hotel herself.😂😂 As in "why did you dump me in this horrible comfy hotel when I could have been having a brilliant time with you in the freezing cold and mud" ? Think it was more that the mrs had booked a romantic weeken...

Re: Bivvy a Month 2025

Finally got out last night for my feb BAM. Was up at the fort William festival so thought it would be rude not to take my bike with me. Was nothing fancy or far just a small pedal up the hill behind fort William to get the quilt out and relax. Now needing to make it up to the Mrs since she was left ...

Re: Anyone used this carbon fibre repair kit...

I used something similar to repair carbon motorbike fairings and it worked ok. Wasn’t a structural part so was happy enough with the results. It’s a bit like glass fibre kits so pretty easy to work with as long as everything is clean and you just take your time with it.

I ended up wearing everything I had with me in my quilt so no issues there.😂 Think it was because my bike was on its site a pool formed in my empty frame bag and froze.🤔

Re: Bamboo 2

That looks brilliant.

Have been tempted to get a lot myself but then I keep on looking at all the other projects I have in the shed and think better of it. Would it of been a struggle to get it all lined up without a frame jig?

Re: Bivvy a Month 2025

So Jan bivy was interesting to say the least. Headed out on Thursday night with the bivy and quilt. Had been eyeing up a route from the house which was about a 80km pedal and a fair bit of HaB. Got 35km round and set up the bivy under the stars. By 3am it was hailstones and rather cold (-7). Managed...

1) Favourite outing (not necessarily by bike) Spent a long weekend riding mountain bikes in torridon and had an vaguely exciting time. Just myself in the van with no hassle or pressure. Not had much bike time this year as spent a lot of it coaching and helping my girlfriend enjoy mtb and bikepacking...
