Thanks to both you and Dee for organising, had a great weekend in mid Wales, survived the ridiculous winds and finished it off with some lovely cake

Re: need a good compact powerbank?
I've got quite a few Anker products, some old, some new, all well used.
Never had a problem with any of them.

West to east does sound better, though i love the foel fadin descent on my cross bike
and the climb out of Knighton isn't that bad either.

Not that I'm aware off, it's a case of following the bread crumb trail. I use mine as a back for my etrex 30x.

Sounds like they are on the short side then. Don't want to take the risk of getting the wrong one, hardly a cheap mistake to make.

Cumulus 150 quilt.
Been looking at this for a while now, have ruled out the alpkit cloud cover based on length and price (was a much better proposition at its original rrp). I'm 186cm tall, will the standard sized 150 quilt be fine or will I forever be regretting not going for the long version (which is currently out ...

Re: Trans Cambrian Way (round trip)
Me and my friend rode it on our gravel bikes last year. Him on a Croix De few with 42cc tyres with me on my Arkose with 35mm tyres.
Foel Fadian descent was the only section that warranted a bigger bike, though my friend did slice his tyre during the elan valley dam sections.

Re: Routes for skinnier tyres. Or not.
I'm no riding god, but rode the TCW last year on my cross bike and if anything still felt overbiked for the route.
All the climbs bar one were rideable, all the descent were rideable, with only one making wish I took a bigger bike (Foel Fadian?)

Re: Is it safe along the canal... ?
Depends on how far from Civilisation I was, more than 5 miles from the last house/pub I saw then I probably wouldn't lock it up.
If it within walking distance, it would be locked or forming part of my bivvy structure.

Thank you In Reverse,
Roych Clough used to form part of m,y Jacobs Ladder route, Roman Road etc. So think I will stick to the cross bike with larger volume tyres.
Cheers

Re: Pennine Bridleway Terrain.
Thanks guys, All my riding of 10 years or so ago was in the peaks around Edale, Rush up, Ladybower and Cut gate. Whilst I know those sections would be faster and more comfortable on a mountain bike, I've no concerns riding them on my cross bike which will be quicker on a lot on the majority of the P...

Pennine Bridleway Terrain.
Having just completed by first Bike packing trip (Trans Cambrian Way) with relative ease on my Adventure/Cross bike, a Pinnacle Arkose. I've got my sights set on the Pennine Bridle way from Kirkby Stephen to Matlock. Anybody ridden this route before and advise of the general terrain one might expect...
