Sorry, I meant PM.
Can you PM me please with your email address? It looks like my PM is sitting in the outbox and not sending for some odd reason.

Re: Milk for tea when bivvying
Nido is whole milk powder that comes in tins. I had to get mine from Amazon as the shops here have a limited range. I didn't get the measurements right on a recent UK mainland tour due to too large a spoon and forgetting how much I put in last time! Mix it with water in the cup, chuck in the tea bag...

Re: Surely 11 days too early - 50t cassette.
You guys become more heroic to me the more I read about what you're up to. I ended up going off-road along a track on the sea front in Cullen a couple of years ago on my bike (Thorn tourer - slightly loaded). Suddenly the track became rock and steep for a short section so I clicked down three gears ...

Wanted - aluminium or steel tube
I need a piece of aluminium or steel tube abour 100mm in length and no more than 10mm outside diameter. I am not really worried about internal diameter as long as it is a tube. I am going to use it as a priming straw for a pressure stove, so dimensions aren't crucial. Price please including next day...

Wanted: Optimus Terra Weekend HE Pan Set
Just the pans. I don't need the Crux stoves that came with the extended set.
Let me know price including shipping in the UK.
Thanks

Eneloops seem to be highly thought of, but, and I hope that I am not teaching anyone to suck eggs here, the charger is really important. Get a decent intelligent charger.

Re: Minimalism beyond bikepacking?
In response to FLV, back in the old days the car boot used to contain all my tools, a tow rope, jump leads, a gallon of fuel and some water. I only owned old wrecks back then. I just tipped out the car boot last weekend to sell my current car and it only contained water, windscreen washer fluid, a s...

No, I carry one knife and two Leathermans that happen to have blades ;-)
Multi tools usually do many jobs badly and no one job well. That's why mechanics don't have smaller toolboxes with a handful of multi tools!

Re: Minimalism beyond bikepacking?
@Haywire -- Funnily enough I have a spare!! No really. I bought one in Coyote, thought that it looked too military so go a black one. They work out hideously costly by the time you have them shipped over from the US, but the shoulder harness makes it more comfortable than either of my Ospreys, and I...

Re: Minimalism beyond bikepacking?
Funny you should say that, I carry a knife in a leather pouch on my belt, hidden by my microfleece. When people can't get into the reams of paper that we buy, which now come in a plastic wrapping so tight that even scissors are impractical against them, I whip out the knife (Spyderco UKPK - UK legal...

Re: Minimalism beyond bikepacking?
Two Leathermans - I tend to lend the small one out to those that need it. I don't trust them with the bigger (Mini). Spare cables - you are absolutely right DVR - I would feel a bit of a twonk talking into my iPad Pro. It seems much more acceptable to talk into my hand  Camera - It's a really ...

Re: New bell - 'tis quite clever.
I have got a Ding Dong bell, but it sounds nothing like the sound samples. When I ding dong it people don't move out of the way, they tend to look around with the curious look that people have on their face when they think that a long case clock is about to fall on them!

Re: Minimalism beyond bikepacking?
I must admit that I am absolutely the reverse of this. I carry too much, and have had to move from carrying a messenger bag to a small rucksack as the bag was too heavy on one shoulder. The rucksack being smaller means that I have been forced to carry less, but on a normal day I carry the following:...

Re: Starter Sleeping Bag?
Sometimes worth looking online at Field and Trek for decent prices. Part of Sports Direct though, so you haven't got to mind zero hours contracts. I got a slim down bag from them for £82, but I don't think it would be much use in winter. Robens was the make. Snugpak has been metioned here. I have a ...

Re: Resurrecting dead eVent jacket
I have just binned one as it looked so tatty. Mine had "bobbled" due to a rucksack rubbing on it. The jacket really did take some hammer though and was rarely looked after. I replaced it with another Rab of the same model. Costly at £220, but still offered good value and fantastic performa...

MSR Hubba Hubba Tent Review written fro RealOutdoorsForum.com The head said get a Hilleberg, but the wallet said otherwise.
