Re: Isle of Wight, two day loop

@sean_iow, just come back from a two day bikepacking trip on the IoW, we used your Strava as the basis for a 65 mile route. So this is a thank you from us; we had amazing weather and your route had some proper gems :-bd

FS: PHD Minim sleeping bag 367 grams

Selling my PHD Minim, 900 down fill with MX black outer, no zip. I bought it in may 2012 and have used it only a handful of times: WRT 2014, OMM 2013 and a couple of DIY bivvy trips. It weighs 367 grams on my scales and packs down to the size of an apple. It's rated as comfortable to +8 degrees. I t...

I've taken a spare airlok with a bit of strap. Packs small and potentially serves more than one purpose.

Re: Your CX ratios

38 x 11-32 on the commuter cross bike, 38 x 11-34 on the cross racer here. Has been fine for everything from long days audax style on the commuter, to 3 peaks cx on the race bike.

Creating a .gpx route for Spain

So, bikehike.co.uk works quite well for creating .gpx routes in the UK. I'm wanting to create routes for a spot of road biking in the Picos de Europa. Any tips on which website to use?

Or even better, any good routes from Potes?

Ah. I don't know if the RaceFace N/W will run 10sp. It runs 8 speed fine.

RaceFace do a 30T one, with a bit of machining to offset it from the spider so as not to get any fouling IIRC

Re: 2 - 3 days in the Brecons / Black mountains

Yes, thanks! Had come across lars's write-up courtesy of Google.

Think 238 miles is at least twice as long as what I'd entertain the thought of doing though.

Anybody want to recommend the best bits / where to cut out bits to shorten it?

2 - 3 days in the Brecons / Black mountains

I've got a midweek slot in a couple of weeks time, thinking about a 2-3 day loop around the Brecons / Black Mountains.

Don't suppose anybody's done this and has a handy satnavvy link that I could pinch...

Any tips for where to (not) go would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Road tour tyre choice

Definitely slicks. These would be a good choice http://road.cc/content/review/117460-challenge-strada-bianca-700c-30mm-tyres, or Continental GP 4 seasons or whatever they are called for a light-weight, more chance of a puncture or something from Schwalbe for heavier, more bombproof, less chance of a...
