Re: These new fangled thick/thin chain rings...

Fair few people on pinkbike who swear by them, When they tested some apparently never dropped the chain once.

Re: Frame bags - Are they worth it?

Bikepack.eu make some great kit. I have their frame bag, seat pack and bar bag, oh and a fuel tank. ;) If you can get your head around the slightly confusing web page it's worth persevering! Another thing to consider is when do you need it? If its custom there's going to be a delay..... They ...

Re: Frame bags - Are they worth it?

At £110 the Wildcat Leopard's are expensive? Or am I just being a tight ar*e? I like the look of the Revelate Designs products but they don't do bags to fit the full frame? Does anyone have a medium sized 'Tangle' bag from Revelate? If so, what do you fit in there? Got one of those too. Had it for ...

Re: Frame bags - Are they worth it?

Cheers guys, I like the idea of them anyway. Mainly for the cooking gear and because it won't effect the handling too much. Recommend me some then guys? :D Also, saddle bags and bar mounts for dry bags etc? I'm all new to this and want to try keep the budget as low as possible but don't want to scri...

Re: New to the forum, Looking for newbie advice?

I like the look of the Alpkit Delta but for both of us, There's not enough room. We're both around 6ft tall and stocky/fat lads, My brother is definitely larger though :D My brother mentioned using a large tarp, with both bikes in the center on their saddle/handle bars used to hold the tarp up. He's...

Re: Frame bags - Are they worth it?

Both frames are 18 inch hardtails.

My brothers argument was along the lines of, the frame bags would have to be narrow, maybe a little bit wider than the frame, otherwise you'd be catching your knees/feet on the bag whilst peddaling?

Frame bags - Are they worth it?

Having a debate with my brother and we're trying to work out if a frame bag is actually worth it?

How much can you fit inside a frame bag? What do you guys personally put in your frame bags if you use one?

You try running without moving your shoulders lol It'd probably do more damage than riding.

Re: New to the forum, Looking for newbie advice?

I'm more gutted due to the fact that the last time I went to see the consultant, He told me to move my arm to help with the healing. Everything felt fine, pretty much back to normal. No pain what so ever so I was thinking everything was well on the mend and I'd be back to normal soon. And then today...

Re: New to the forum, Looking for newbie advice?

Bit off topic but today I went back to the hospital regarding my broken collarbone. The incident happened on the 26th of July and it resulted in a double fracture on my left side, So anyway. Today I went back to see the consultant and had another X-Ray, The bones don't seem to be healing properly an...

Re: New to the forum, Looking for newbie advice?

Had a look at the Golite Shangri-la 3, Don't think I'm prepared to spend that much and have read a fair few reviews of which people compare both tents and say there's not much in it between the two? Also it doesn't come with the inner nest like the Mini Peak's so would cost more there too? The Sil M...

Re: New to the forum, Looking for newbie advice?

The only thing is it says (No stock, delayed dispatch) Does this mean if I was to order, they'd put in an order to their supplier and then send it out to me? Or that there is no stock left at all? Can't find this tent for sale elsewhere. Also, Does anyone know of any other tents, at the same kind of...

Re: New to the forum, Looking for newbie advice?

Cheers for the heads up, I reckon we'll end up getting a different set-up each and see which works best. I like the idea of both but the tent/extra room would definitely be nice seems as we're both fairly big/overweight/fat lads. Another thing, To the people who use tents, what do you do with your b...

Off Topic - Music.

So, Which genres of music do you like most? Bands/DJs etc? Arctic Monkeys do it for me, everytime. Don't think I'll ever get bored of their first album. The new album is very good too. I also like House music. So, Yourselves? Also, do you listen to music whilst out riding? Or whilst out on an overni...

Re: New to the forum, Looking for newbie advice?

I'd always look at buying the right kit for the right price, rather than something cheap which may not help with your first nights out. Buying cheap may end up costing more as you end up buying twice. Secondhand can be a good option as you can get good kit cheap and if you change your mind later yo...
