You can also park on the road leading up to the train station.
To be fair parking up near Stanage edge ( the higher the better) this time of year is also quite secure as there are usually multiple campervans parked up. And it means you start your ride with a downhill!

I wonder if Bezos and his mates had to piss and crap in bottles and boxes like many of his employees are forced to on a regular basis. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2021/mar/25/amazon-delivery-workers-bathrooms-memo I think going to space is a great thing….. if everything else is done right...

Re: Bells and alerters: your favourite (gone to poll)
I’ve had an Alexander-Graham for a few years now and it was worth the high price.

It’s quite a high pitch so it can be heard from quite a distance away. I got it after several accusations of aggressive bell ringing.

Re: Shaf's respirator appeal.
Hiya Shaf, Great work team bearbones. Can I ask, does your unit have a written policy on decontaminating the powered respirators? Would you be able to share it? I ask as I normally wear a powered respirator but our trust have decided that we cannot wear them for Covid-19 patients as they argue that ...

Re: Hang On, There's ADDERS In Kielder?!
I've seen quite a few Adders in the Peak District now, all of them tiny and slow, Its a great thing too see. In terms of getting injured by animals I'd be more concerned by cows, they're unpredictable, dirty and will f"#* you right up. I've seen a steady flow of broken humans with filthy wounds...

I normally parked at the far end of windermere road (just before you get back to the main road again), opposite a row of terraced houses. Ive left car there 4+ days in the past. never had a problem.

Krampus with a Rohloff here. Absolutely love it, a hoot to ride and with the hub it’s idiot proof (but not light!) when I finally destroy it I’m keen to get a tumbleweed prospector.
Good overview of what’s available here.

It does work but it’s a ball ache.
I’ve had chronicles on rabbit holes for a few years now.
Had to go down the split tube route, it’s been bomb proof since.

Re: Cairngorms loop sept?
Hiya Dave not yet sure if I'm doing an ITT or a potter around? After my partial highland trail tour I've got delusions of grandeur so I'm going to try and do a sub 24 hour Peak 200 starting Tuesday morning. If that goes well Im going to try and ITT the Cairngorms loop. Not quite sure when though, po...

Re: Safe Parking At Tyndrum or Crianlarich?
Just arrived in Tyndrum for a slow pootle around the highland trail. Thought I would ask around before dumping the van for the best part of 2 weeks. You can dump a car behind the green wellie stop for as long as you like but they Like to keep a register of vehicles being left behind. You can fill it...

I’m having a slow drive up on Friday. May well start on fri afternoon. I’m not going to be fast. Cars are fine to be left in the start car park. Don’t know about sleeping in it though, I’m sure it’s fine if you’re discreet. I’m sure folks have left cars in the car park by the chippy in the village a...

Hiya. I’ve got a krampus and a Fargo! Running a rohloff on the Fargo ( it was on the krampus before). Went for hope xc rims in the end. I’ve run them with quite a few tyres, 2.1 nanos at the minute down to skinny commuting tyres. Having a narrow rim on the Fargo alongside the krampus is a great comb...

Have you got an old seat post and seat clamp you can sacrifice. Quite liked how simple this idea was.
