Re: Fatfighters 2019 Weigh-in Thread
I'm in!
I have always been big, but have put a serious amount of weight on the last 6 months with a knee injury and also having no bike for the last two months.
Hopefully this will give me the motivation needed to shift the excess weight!

WTD: Virtually everything to rebuild my 456
Morning all, Its been a long while since I have been around these parts, but reading the recent Bear Bones news has enthused me to use a bike for something more than a commute to work. That being said, I need to get my bike back up and running. I currently have frame, fork and wheels of an old 26&qu...

Re: WRT. I'm getting nervous
Im looking forward to this but like others am a tad nervous due to a lack of fitness and a lack of offroad riding time. I am however looking forward to exploring. Planning to ride solo due to my lack of fitness as it allows me to stop when and where I want without frustrating people. Only got...

The final piece of the puzzle, an 180mm IS mount for the Inbred. Paid a couple of quid more to get it from Harry Halls today, but means the bike should be on the road this evening!
Thinking of some mucky nutz fenders for it now.

Re: Bottom Bracket Fitting advice
Cheers guys!
The white rims look better than i thought they would and at £95 for the pair I couldnt be happier!
hopefully I can pick the correct mount for the front caliper tomorrow in town.
And thanks for the tips Stu, I shall give it a go tomorrow.

Re: Bottom Bracket Fitting advice
Well, the build has gone ok! Ive been unable to put the front brake on, due to a different mount on the fork and at the moment the front gears dont work! I just cant get them to index right. If i hold the cable, the lever clicks through at it should. As soon as i hook it up to the front dera...

Re: Bottom Bracket Fitting advice
do yu mean that the crank spindle seems too short? Is the BB shell the same width on both frames, ie 68mm or is the 'new' frame 73mm? Exactly this! The crank spindle was too short and i couldnt get the none drive arm on. After playing about, it is a 73mm shell rather than 68mm which the old 456 is....

Bottom Bracket Fitting advice
Afternoon all, I am currently in the process of transferring everything from my 456 over to my inbred and have come a little unstuck at the BB. I have transferred it over exactly as it was on my 456, including the 3 plastic black rings (2 on the chain side, 1 on the other) but now the cranks dont se...

Re: Wtd - 29er wheel set - what have you got!
Cheers for the input all. I was thinking of going for a pair of these - http://www.merlincycles.com/shimano-mt15-29er-mtb-wheels-pair-77646.html saves me £70 over the superstar wheels. However, if I can look past the white rims, then the offer from Merlin seems like a real bargain! The thought of ev...

Cheers Johnnystorm!
Just had a look, only thing which stopped me clicking buy instantly is the fact they are white rims. Might look a little out of place on my orange and black inbred!

Wtd - 29er wheel set - what have you got!
Now I've got the inbred and carbon forks, I need to get some wheels before I can transfer over the bits from my 456. I can't afford anything till Friday, but before I click buy on a set from Superstar I thought I'd see what people have going spare on here. Not got my heart set on anything in particu...

My sj4000 turned up yesterday so I am looking forward to trying it out.
Also just had a nice trip over to Buxton to pick up the inbred and carbon forks from ianfitz. Very happy indeed with it, looking forward to getting some wheels and building it up at the end of the month!
