Collecting/hoarding household waste?

Is it just me? I rummage through bins, pick rubbish up at the side of the road, strip stuff down so I can save the 'useful' bit ... all in the name of future MYOG projects.
I'm starting to feel like a cross between a Womble and Mr Trevis (if anyone remembers him)
