Hello...

I've popped some words and pixtures up on the blog from the last month or so of riding the Baja Divide, in Mexico. It's 1,700 miles of mostly off-road route the length of the Baja peninsula, from San Diego south.

Wow, that looks amazing. What is that stove/campfire thingy you were using? Is this going to be an annual thing? I want to do it!

vaguely exciting! Some great photos. I like the way you've written the post, putting the photos into little groups, "riders," "camping," thorns," etc. and letting them tell the story with just enough words, rather than simply putting them chronologically.

He has a top hat that folds up as well (I kid you not)!

Thanks . I often get a bit bogged down in a chronological story, and didn't have the patience to write lots on an aging and slow iPad, so glad it worked well this way.

The stove is a Honey Stove Ti, which works well in a place with lots of dry wood, and packs flat. They do a cheaper steel version also.

I'm not sure that the group start will be an annual event - this was mainly to get some momentum behind a new route - but all the information to ride the route is freely available on the Baja Divide Website and Facebook group.

I may come back next year to ride again and hopefully complete the sections I missed due to mud, mechanicals and illness!

Just realised I fell foul of the "swear" filter. I found it more than vaguely exciting!

Haha, I did wonder if that's what you'd meant. Does it remove the sweary word or replace is with a less enthusiastic alternative??

Oh god, that thing is amazing! Not only a wood stove and bbq but it takes the trangia burner or 8g ultralight meths stove too. I want one! Only question is which to get..... the SS version doesn't seem that weighty (362g vs 161g) and at £39 vs £75 for Ti, it is a bit of a no-brainer for me.
