I'll use whatever form of shelter works best for a given situation. That might range from nothing at all up to a full blown, 2 skin tent.
What about everyone else? Do you feel using anything more than a bivvy bag/tarp is a cop out or are you happy to take whatever seems best for the circumstances. I know that there can be an almost purist attitude at times which appears to dismiss the use of tents, as though using a tent has in some way changed what your doing and altered it from bikepacking to something else.
Hey, it's not unknown for me to rest my head in a bothy when the time's right :D

Of course tents have a place, even pitched in crap welsh weather on a slope.
