Shifter mounting/ Brake levers

I have a Genesis Fortitude Adventure which i am trying to figure out setup for putting some woodchippers, or similar, on.
Current BB7 mtb brakes - can't see road type levers that are definitely compatible - does anyone know if the Tektro RL520 will have enough pull? Or recommend something compatible to prevent me needing buy new brakes.
Next issue is trying to sort the Alfine shifter as looks like it will need to be mounted out front near stem, seen a photo on STW with this arrangement, anyone got better suggestion?
Cheers, Niall

Cane Creek V drop bar levers work fine with mtb bb7s

Unfortunately, sort of, I have 11 speed Alfine. Although on looking they also do 11 speed too, pricey though! Might have to ask Santa

Am I correct in thinking you are attempting to do this?

Easy to do but you cant mix "road" leavers with "MTB" BB7's as the pull ratio is different. I just replaced the BB7's with the road equivalent calipers and used Versa 11 speed leavers (a UK company) for the Alfine 11 (used to be cheap on on-one/planet x). dont forget you will need a very short and steep stem too to get the bars high enough.

I set of problem solvers could help with the differing pull ratios of the leavers, but I found it just soooo spongy that it was no good. Just bought some new calipers instead.

Yes, thank you. That's pretty much what I'm going for!
Thanks for the lever information, this is starting to be a very expensive experiment :)

Yes it gets expensive.

And the bars wont sit happy with the top tube (turn the bars and the bars contact the top tube) as the bike was never designed for drops. I wouldn't say it didn't work, it did, but its a very compromised ride, especially with wood chippers.

Hmm, never thought of that - maybe need look at Plan B - Jones bars instead, saves buy new levers/ shifter.
