Cowl for a Revo

After some suggestions...
I'd like to use my Dynamo and Revo on the road this winter. But aware that they are very dazzling.
I thought about making a clip on cowl to stop too much light shining upwards.
Realise that there's plenty of German road legal lights that do this but as I already have the Revo...
Any ideas of the best way to do this?

I don't think a cowl or any such mask will be particularly effective.
I've a B&M (German) road legal light and it achieves its beam pattern by using a fresnel lens (car headlights do something similar) so I'd look at something along those lines. Maybe the stick-on style headlight adjusters that you can get for cars to alter the beam when driving on the continent. The B&M lights also achieve relatively even light distribution by pointing the LED backwards and then reflecting it forwards through the lens with more output being directed further down the road.

Bit of coke can and a zip tie?
I wouldn't worry about dazzling drivers provided you have the beam pointed downwards a bit. Even at max revs its going to be nothing like as bright as one of those Bi-xennon things that most cars have these days.

what about one of the "difusers" that exposure make for their other lights - half coloured in black on the top - but and the bottom cut out to allow a beam but with the sides in takt to give some side visability.
my biggest gripe with the revo is the pisspoor side visability on the road.

Are they available separately? That could work.
I guess the revo was an off road designed light. Most of my bikes have a fair amount of reflective tape on them. Cranks and wheels especially.
