Pots, pans and stoves

Been looking at pots and stoves and couldn't decide what would suit me best, solid fuel, meths burner, gas.

To overcome my dilema I bought all three with some pots chucked in :D

Whilst looking I found the Esbit mini cookset which lead me on to it's slightly larger sibling the combo spirt burner / solid fuel cookset. I also bought a hi-gear ti blaze gas burner for good measure. A C100 cartidge fits in the pot perfectly and if I leave the other stoves at home the blaze will easily fit with plenty of room for other bits and bobs too.

I like the simmer cap because it has a little handle

Pretty much sorted for everything there Nevis ;)

I'd looked at the Esbit solid fuel cookers/pan/windshield set ups ... nice to see some better pics of it. Let us know how you go on once you've given it a whirl.

I seem to recall flatfishy describing his Jetboil as, 'a one trick pony' ... make of that what you will ;)

I had a jetboil, boiled water that was all, and contrary to their advertising blurb, it was shocking over 4000m and was ebayed in preference to lauching it into a crevasse.

Although the new designs do have me wondering again, especially that ti one, I had a look at one last week. Ultimately though it is a expensive kettle! Think I'll stay with a pot and Optimus crux.
