Just seen over on STW that Wenchie was having neck issues and in hospital. Hope all is ok and you mend quickly. There's a lot of good cycling on the Olympics if you are bored.

Thanks guys - it has definitely been a strange couple of weeks.
I'm out of hospital and under the care of neurosurgeons, neurologists and the neurovascular team (and any other neuro specialty that fancies adding me to their outpatient clinic) - so I'm hoping I'll be fixed up soon.
The most upsetting things so far have been receiving the news I can't ride my bike until I'm fixed . . . And receiving the letter for my neurologist appointment - from the Geriatric medicine department!!!
Geri-chuffing-atric!!??? (I do realise this is because I'm at risk of stroke - but it still hurts!)
I shall be back soon enough with meccano in my neck and better blood flow to my brain so hopefully an end to the bloody headaches that have plagued me for way too long. Imagine how clever and quick witted I will be then with a fully functioning brain. . .

I know far too well what its like to be kept from what you love to do due to health problems.
hoping you get fixed quickly and find some other satisfying stuff to do in the mean time. (i learnt to play the guitar - badly - while recovering!)

Wow, get well soon!

Get well soon Ione.
It's really frustrating dealing with things like this when you are so used to just doing stuff. Keep plugging away and things will get better.

You'll be back and raring to go. Think of all the new injuries you'll be able to get when you're properly fit again!

That's a good sign! - I jokingly said my scan couldn't have been that bad as they had let me go home afterwards. . . Only to be urgently told to go back in later the same day with threats of surgery and all sorts of fun and games.

Saw that look a few times when we got to the top in Tuscany!
Seriously, I've been reading about your tribulations on STW. Doesn't sound at all pleasant. Maybe it's the Stooge??? Maybe you should give it away?......
Hope you make a full and very speedy recovery.

I think he was talking about taking a different Michael . . .
As for the beloved stooge it is staying put and will be lovingly stored and dusted until my return. . . I have already declined Mike's kind offer of taking it out every once in a while!!!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
If it would not make matters worse you can have the 73kms I did this week along NT2 to Exeter St Davids and back.
Stopped at a small cafe down by the locks on a clear and sunny day and had a Blackcurrant Slice from the Exploding Bakery and a coffee. Smell of fennel in the air along the Exe estuary and waders wittering eerily chasing the ebb tide.
