Just had a great 6 days fat biking the Outer Hebrides from south Uist heading north to Lewis. A truly magical place where I was blessed with some fine weather and no midges!

Some pics with a video coming soon......

That looks pretty damn amazing. And I thought Claerwen was remote and awe-inspiring. <Humble-mode>

Same here, you were lucky to get the best week of the year in Scotland there Jeff

Surprised that you've not been out there Ian. I've not been to the bothy, it's a memorial to a couple's daughter who died in Afghanistan. Not many touring options on the Uists and Benbecula other than the (single) road or the beach/machair. There's also a great independent hostel on Berneray.

You need to get there guys, a truly remarkable place.

They actually started to build it over 20 years ago. There's some information in the bothy about the Linda Norgrove Foundation they set up after their daughter was tragically killed during a rescue attempt in Afghanistan (5 years ago).
Here's a couple of pics from the 'visitors box'.

After watching Alastair Humphrey's Bothy video last year I was determined to get there. It took a fair bit of surfing the net to find it...........
