DD hammocks are quite big but if you want room war bonnet blackbird 1.7 from the states is huge check you tube reviews on this.
The two hammock above are aslo two of the best for laying side ways accordIng alot of reviewers.
its best to try before you buy if you can, just last week i camped in my hammock between a busy rail line and a airport and slept soundly as hammock was so comfy:)

Re: Hammock........for a big un!!
DD hammocks (google).
Tenth Wonder - do an XL, gathered end, no bug net - cheap and cheerful (find them on ebay).
Hennessey - look at the US site for all the specs and then search for cheapest UK supplier - they do some big models ones for large/heavy blokes.
Warbonnet are stocked (a little sporadically) by ukhammocks.co.uk - Matt (owner) is based west of Leeds. He also makes his own gathered end / double layered hammocks (Woodsman and Woodsman X). Might do something custom .....
Check Warbonnet's US site and they have a good section called something like "Hammocks 101" with recomended weights and models they make. I know you're a big lad so suspect their 1.7 (thickness of fabric, this being thickest) and double meaning two layers in the base would suit. Pay for it though.
If not familiar with hammocking you could do worse than get the book off Matt's site ("The Perfect Hang" IIRC) which has loads of guidance and advice.
Not even started on tarps yet ......
