Bivvy, bothy and rain.

I spent the weekend helping Susan lose her bikepacking / bivvying / bothying virginity

We were out Sat and Sun night and had some rather 'interesting' weather for much of the time. First night was spent in the same spot as used on the infamous 2010 winter bivvy just below Plynlimon. Someone had built a fire ring since my last visit so it was pressed into service and I have to say, it was very welcome.

Sunday morning dawned (just) with rain, wind and mist. First port of call for the day was the cafe at Nant ... lots of sideways looks from pristine familys when we arrived, dripping and covered in crap :)

Camp on Sunday morning ... still raining.

Tea time ... the hat was nearly as good as mine.

Nant Rhys was to be Sundays overnight spot, which surprisingly we had to ourselves. The snug and upstairs are both now open again but it was pretty obvious the place has been the scene of a few parties of late ... some idiot had also ripped the locks off the tool storage cupboard

The weather on Mon continued in the same vain with wind and rain but we were only 3 hours from home and Susan proved to be made of stern stuff, so a bit of liquid sunshine didn't seem to dampen her spirits ... in fact, she's now thinking of entering the WRT.

Envious because I had to cancel :( and glad you had a good time and didn't frighten Susan away . . . might mean I have female company on some of our trips in the future.

Not that I don't like being out with you men - obviously
