What's your Every Ride Carry?

I thought I'd put a spin on my other hobby (or should I say lifestyle?) Of EDC or Every Day Carry, so wondering what you guys carry or take with you on every ride?

Now this includes both on your person and packed on your bike and could be the bare essentials, over prepared, or a baseline kit that you add to depending on situations.
It should apply both to normal rides and bikepacking, although seeing a difference in base kit could be interesting?

For me its separated into my normal EDC and then basic bike EDC;

Always on my person:
Phone (lumia 725)
Diabetic medicals
Basic boo boo kit
Gerber Dime multitool
Thrunite Ti3 AAA light
Wallet with card, Cash and swisscard
Glucose tablets

Bike specific:
Inner tube (26 or 700)
Co2 pump
Topeak survival box
Abus pocket cable lock
+1 first aid kit, bandage, blister and burn cream
Uvex Helmet

Obviously clothes and accessories are seasonal, and I add extras or spares on longer trips but this is my baseline I've settled on, how I carry these however changes at an alarming rate, if you only saw my bag collection.....

So what would your basic bike EDC be? I'm pretty sure nothing is more minima than a credit card in a pocket but still counts none the less :-bd

I even lived to tell the tale :-bd

Spare tube or 2 and Patches (after a worrying ride in Torridon where we were down to one tube that fitted no-ones bike by the end of the 1St climb)
Mini pump
Multi-colour with tyre levers and chain tool
Zip ties
Chain link
Emergency blanket
Whistle
Phone (Stravaaaaaa)
Wallet

If i'm on the full suss then I carry a shock pump and a spare mech hanger as well.

Depends entirely how far im going to be from home. Riding locally I don't take anything.

My rule is carry as little as I can get away with. Within reason.

My half frame bag currently contains
-First aid kit
-2x tubes
-1 repair kit
-Tyre levers, small pliers*, multi tool
-Pair of rubber gloves
-Wipes (I can see where this is going...!)
-Emergency gel
-Cut up laminated map(s)
-Miniature bottle of whiskey**

Feed bag for my water bottle
Pump is attached to my frame
Phone, keys and cards are on me

*Yep, pliers! At the start line of the R150, the eventually winner needed a set of pliers to sort out his valves, without them, he wouldn't of started (or more likely, found someone else with them!)
**In case of emergency! Actually, it's been left in there since a bivi ride that didn't happen

I think the trick to balancing light with preparedness is making carrying these things so convenient that you barely know you have them

I always keep a tube and co2 on both bikes tucked under the seat, with patches and tape slipped inside the rolled tube. barely notice its there and while levers and a pump are handy, not essential and what's under the seat is never forgotten and can save a long walk home

My toolkit is overkill but its what I got and stays behind the seatpost permanently, forget its there sometimes.

My main edc is always in my pockets or small belt pouch, from the minute I get out of bed to the minute I retreat. Keep it small and light and there's no excuse not to, works no matter what I'm wearing

"I have genuinely ridden my bike with just myself, my clothes and my bike & nothing else." :-)

I may regret airing this, but I've ridden with just myself and my bike and nothing else. At all. Only once to see what happened. Only a mile or so. Not a pretty sight, but since nobody saw me no harm done to anyone or small furry animals. Wales is still pretty unpopulated in places...

This is maybe an unfortunate choice of words

Or maybe the pun was intended? In either case it has made me spit the remnants of my coffee over my computer

House keys. 'Cause I really hate having to break into my own place.

Pretty much everything else gets forgotten/left at home at some point.

Sadly I missed the pun - well spotted :-). Anyway, as an exercise in trying the ultimate BP set-up it left one or two things to be desired, although I suppose at least I tried. Possibly that's an obscure play on words too. The desirability of one or two things being aired was quite likely restricted to a very small, and interesting, segment of the population of rural Wales.

I leave a frame bag on full time as I have (well, choose) an off-road commute to work and often take the long or longer way there or home.

It has tools and spares, some food and some warm/water proof kit in it. This caries through the year.

I find it varies greatly according to the weather, distance and how organised I am! On local rides I often just take my house keys, although this has resulted in a longish walk home on one occasion. Normally take basic toolkit and warm/waterproof layer and small first aid kit if I'm out for longer or going further afield.

Money for cake.

Everything else depends on my level of organisation.
