The words wet and windy don't begin to do justice to this years Winter Bivvy Cymru. I've never been so wet, for so long ... even my bin liner suit couldn't keep the water out. Anyway, it was a very long extended weekend for Mike, Scott and myself which resulted in us meeting Cat, Karl and Burty in a wet carpark in Llandrillo. While sat in the pub, options were discussed and we set off out into a storm the likes of which I can't remember.
Here's a few pics to get you going but I shall return with a full graphic write up.
Scott leaving our second nights accommodation on route to the 'Winter Bivvy'
The accommodation for the Winter Bivvy itself ... 'twas a lucky find because you really didn't want to be outside at this point.
Top marks to Cat and Karl for going beyond the call of duty with not only the food but also the decorations and festive attire.

Huh...Shotgun House looks tiny in that picture...and somehow you've managed to capture it so as to not show just how wet it was!
A huge thanks to Mike and Stu for showing me around the back blocks of mid (and north!) Wales. I won't even mention "that" climb...just in case it spoils it for later on.
And respect to Cat, Karl and Burty for braving the elements with us. Look out for the video

glad the bird hide worked out scott .
sorry about bailing early , may not have being the best time to try out some new kit .
or may have being the best time to test out new kit cant make my mind up .
realized this morning that nothing that I had on was wind proof so that could account for me freezing my nuts off,
due to the gentle breeze

( stu has video evidence)
I think I will stick with the old faithful layers from now on

That was four days of UPS, downs and drowns.....gun shots at midnight and three rather scared blokes in an old farm house ( if it were a movie we were making, i think at least one of us would of died that night

) anyhow we made it. Thanks to you guys ( cat karl n burty ) stu n scott i actually had a great time now i reflect on it and im warm n dry
I too will do a picturial write up later in week, and that climb will get a mention!!

The epitome of Type 2 fun...right there. Even that Thursday night brutalicious push can be looked back on fondly, especially the cheeky bit at the top.

The wind was certainly blowing....sorry about that! Me and Cat had a fun time and feel loads better for enduring the bad conditions for a good night in our little hide. Respect to Scot, Mike and Stu for riding through 4 days of it. Think I might of had a sense of humour failure if I'd done that.
Thanks guys for having us along!

To start to document our trips I've started writing a little blog over Christmas. It's taken me a while to finish it off but hope you enjoy. I feel it has offered another dimension to the adventure.
