Help, I can't get the air out of my tyres

Apart from making a deliberate puncture, does anyone have any bright ideas how to get the air out of my tyre so I can change to my knobblies.
I'm currently running Marathon Mondials and to be honest, I've been way too lazy to change them over to knobblies even though I would have enjoyed many outings better if I'd done so. But after my last ride, slithering and sliding on wet and muddy ground, I can't put this off any more. The problem is that I've got sludge filled inner tubes and the front tyre neither inflates or deflates as the valve appears to be blocked. On the upside, I haven't had a puncture since I put these thingies in.
Anyone?
P.S. I've made a deal with Dan. He's going to change them, while I make some pastry and use up some lovely cooking apples that I swapped for a basket of tomatoes and make a pie.
