Hi

New to the site so hello all.

Some great tips but have a question on sddlebags and the thudbuster seatpost. Does anyone have any Hints/tips on bags I can run on a Thudbuster.

Pics of setups would be great.

Looking forward to getting ste up and getting out there and popping the preverbial bikepacking cherry.

Cheers Guy

If your talking Revelate saddle bags the Pika fits fine with a Thudbuster ST. Not sure about the LT.

Thanks Flatfish. Looking at Pawels Repack SL or WX but not sure how it will fit on the TBuster SL.

Saw apic of a neat set up on Charlies website but can't see the brand of saddle bag.

Anyone got pics of a Fargo set up or tips?

Guy, chris n and I both have medium size Repack WX seatpacks if you want any dimensions measuring. Don't know anyone with a thudbuster seatpost to try it on though, sorry.

Cheers, I think I could do with the large size to be honest but if you can give a measurment from the top of the seatpost attachment to the point it connects to the saddle rails would be good if not to much trouble.

Is the medium size big enough for your needs???

I'll get it measured tonight after work.

I think it will be, as I don't put heavy items under the saddle. I've used a ~3litre Ortlieb saddlebag for the last 18 months and that was fine for clothing-only up to 48 hour rides, so I'm expecting the 5-9 litre medium Repack to be all I'll need.

The only issue I've found with mine so far is the seams aren't watertight, but I'm working on that.

The answer is somewhere near 90mm.

That gives a really good indication of the room they give me. Do you think the seat post attachment could slide down the pin anymore as the Thudbustr SL is about 95 mm from the saddle rails to the seat post propper and about 115 mm from that point to the saddle rails attachement point for the bag.

Would this make the bag wagle like a dogs tail?

Picture of unknown bag on here...

I think you might get away with it, but I guess you wouldn't know for sure until you'd spent the money and got the bag made.

The saddle straps can be pulled nice and tight; I doubt the wagging-dog effect would be worse than how I have it fitted.

The bag on the Fargo looks like a Revelate one, like the framebag.

If you're anywhere near Dorset pop in for a test fit.

I've got both Pawels Repack SL and a TBuster though neither fitted to anything right now - I could do a mockup over the weekend (have 29" frame & hoops ready to build) which might help get some rough measurements?..
