For a while I ran drop bars on my bike, kinda Fargo style, but now I've settled on a different set up the stuff is all sitting there not getting used. It comprises of:

On one Midge bars
On one stem 70mm by 17 degrees
Cane Creek drop levers
Avid BB7 road cable discs (no rotors)
Avid full metal jacket cables

Not entirely sure what these would be worth as they're not particularly mainstream, so open to offers if anyone is interested?

You've spotted that they're the road versions, which won't work with normal v-brake levers? These will only work with either old fashioned cantilever brake levers, or road levers.

i've read of some people running road bb7's with normal v-brake levers with no troubles though - is this crap?

The first thing I thought was ... you'll be needing one of those Problem Solver Travel Agent things, so I had a look -http://problemsolversbike.com/products/travel_agents/

Looking at the listing it would seem that they're designed to cope with 'road' levers and 'mtb' brakes by increasing the amount of cable pulled by the lever.

If you reverse the problem you have a lever which pulls more cable than the brake requires ... my thinking although possibly flawed, is that, that combination should actually work something like?

an MTB lever with a Road caliper often results in an on/off (lack of modulation) type situation (and are often 'grabby') but then again some people seem to say that they've got 'em to work no problem.

The old Shimano levers with the 3 position adjuster, might go some way towards 'curing' that problem.

I have a nice pair of Paul Comp levers to go with the BB7 road calipers that I hadn't planned on selling, but could be persuaded if the price is right

nice - the main problem i can foresee is that i imagine we have a very different vision of what that 'right price' would be!

I suppose the calipers would be £40 for the pair, accepting the absence of rotors.
Paul levers: can't recall what it actually cost me to import them. A straight conversion from dollars to pounds gives you £80 before postage. Say £50?
I'd rather sell the calipers with either the Paul levers or the cane creek ones (bars optional) on the basis that if I only sold the calipers, the rest would be more difficult to find a home for.

I've been spending loads of late and now that back in the market for a new sleeping mat I could do without attracting any unnecessary spousal attention by buying something that I don't strictly 'need'.

Mark, I'm looking to sell the calipers with a pair of levers ideally, to prevent getting left with unsaleable bits. Are either pair of levers any use to you?

How does this sound: £15 for bar and stem because they're dead cheap on the On One website anyway, £15 for the drop levers and £40 for the discs? Cables and bar tape = free. Postage at cost.

I already have a set of midges I was thinking of moving on and just about every other type of bars ever made to the point where my garage looks like a bar museum so will skip this one if you don't want to split them up.
