What forks are you guys running with your 29+ set ups?

I'm looking at tapered and 15mm axle, pref in a carbon variety.

Need to be 100mm and give sufficient clearance for a 3" tyre on a 50mm rim

I'm running a Whiskey No9 with 15mm thru axle, has loads of clearance for a 3" tyre.

Whisky No 9 ticks all the boxes, don't own them but seen on a couple of Krampus and KM Ops plus-front builds...

I have whiskey 9 too on my krampus. Quite good. Stiffer than the standard krampus fork though.

Obviously the krampus fork fits

Also Salsa enabler fits.

Enve MTN for me.

Loads of clearance, very stiff and direct, yet still compliant, 15mm axle, nice mudguard (which can be removed). It also has the ability to switch the offset from 44mm to 52mm which makes quite a difference to handling.

Need to be 100mm

I assumed hub width as title was rigid, but you could be right.

The Whisky's look very nice, guess they should at that price!

Bingo! 100mm hub width to work with a dynamo hub. No suspension needed here thanks!!

I like the idea of the enve one with adjustable rake.

You just flip the "chip" spacer thing and have the axle at front or rear position...

It also needs the brake mount to be changed to make up for the axle being fore or aft of where it was previously. Not too difficult to do, and all bolts included for it.

Do the little spacers dropout if you take your front wheel out, for instance to use with a tarp?

No they're pretty captive within the dropout assembly. I wouldn't want to rest the fork and bike on the ground by the dropout tbh - on a QR fork it's easier as the dropout is open so you can press it into the ground whereas the Enve is closed so I could see it slipping a bit.

Does anyone make a boost110 carbon 29+ fork yet? Much as I love my Manitous on my Stache, I'm not sure I need them for bikepacking stuff.

I could just use a Whiskey no9, and then I could use a dynohub again... but maybe someone will make a boost110 dynohub eventually.

They do indeed. I'd be interested to know the offset. They're pretty long too, 495mm versus 470mm on the Enve

Managed to pick up a pair of Salsa Caron Firestarter's
Slam69 had a pair of blue ones up for £200, decided to grab them and get my frame sprayed whilst I'm laid up for two months. Slam emails me the day I order them to say there sold out but would do the Matt black ones I originally wanted for the same price! Bonus.

My Mukluk now has the choice of salsa Makwa's with full fat wheels or Firestarter's with 29+ Dynamo wheels!
One bike to rule them all!
