Fantastic. I remember a few years back manufacturers where touting electric assist mtb's and I thought "what's the point". Now I can see a genuine reason for one :-bd .

Wouldn't there be a bit of a legal difficulty there (at least in the UK) as they can only assist (i.e. work when pedalling) rather than self propel?

Only when on a road. On private land you can use anything.

It was a bit dusty when I watched that video, inspiring and brilliant to see him back again.

Does forestry commission stuff count as private land? I know the rules count for bridleways, so I wonder how it factors in there.

My mum had an electric bike for a while and you didn't have to pedal that if you didn't want to. Just open the throttle and go. Unbelievable amount of torque in an electric motor.
