Spot trace

Post by voodoo_simon »

Can someone talk to me about this http://findmespot.eu/shop/index.php?mai ... anguage=en

Don't really know much about Spot, is this worth getting? Looks like a new model to me but that's as much as I can say!

I'm aware they need a monthly plan to go with it, the website quotes ~€9/month , guessing this is quite reasonable?

It's not really a personal tracker in the way 'we' think of SPOT ... it's more a, find your car after it's been nicked type of device. Whether, it could be used like a normal SPOT, I don't know but given it's 100 euro and you can buy gen 2 spots for £30 - £40 on ebay, I'm not sure why you'd bother.

The trace can be used as a tracker for trackleaders just like the others, the only draw back is that it hasn't go a SOS button and or the abiliity to send a msg.

Cheers, not convinced I need one yet but sounds like if I get one, I might as well go the 'whole hog' and buy a gen 2 or 3.

Is it me or is the spot website really difficult to understand?!

Haha I've been looking myself simon. I think they've done a really good job of providing lots of information but still leaving you mildly confused!

It's all very confusing.
I've been looking for a while too and reckon The Spot Gen 3 is the one to get, then get the basic service plan, which includes tracking that I believe you have to reset after 24 hours. Then if you really want upgrade to unlimited tracking.
This took me about a week to work out from the Spot website!
