I'm a quilt convert

After too many sleep deprived nights in what I feel are restrictive sleeping bags (as I move a bit in the night and don't really like the hood) after a night in the local woods trying out my new Cumulus 250 quilt that you can't get in the UK so I had to buy it from here,
http://www.trekking-lite-store.com/Schl ... ::500.html

Down to around 3 degrees with a woolly hat, long sleeved top and Ron Hills, slept for 7 hours
And with 3 night trip up north just finished.

Around 8 degrees, nothing on, short nights slept for 6 hours

As above but with midges and 5 hours of heavy overnight rain, nothing on, short nights slept for 6 to 7 hours

10 degrees, with millions of midges after the days head winds died down, needing a shower and getting a no electric, basic hut for half price, nothing on, slept for 8 hours
I'm now a quilt convert.
Here's Stuarts review of the lighter 150
http://bearbonesbikepacking.blogspot.co ... ested.html
Which is only for warm summer nights, not like this weekend just gone.
Now I'm looking at winter quilts, anyone want to buy a sleeping bag or 2?

I was using my 150 over the weekend, did need to sleep in my jacket but otherwise all was well.

What are you sleeping on top of? I'd have thought that would be fairly cold against the body.

When I realised I was too hot and had to strip off I solved this problem by used the BB Ford Fiesta towel at bum level and my merino tee shirt pulled down over top top half of my neo air.
Going to convert a silt sleeping bag liner for a summer option and a fleecy one for colder nights (both in my spares kit) to be a permenent solution

I've got a silk liner from Decathlon, I always use one to save getting dirt on my bag anyway and it packs down to bugger all and is under 100gms

Having become "quilt curious" recently and failed to find a Cumulus 250 in stock anywhere i now have a quilt on order from
Matt @ UK hammocks. its a custom version of the summer quilt with 250g of down in and lightweight shell materials.
£154 inc p&p and supporting a UK cottage industry. Hope i adapt as well as John seems to...

The UK Hammocks quilts are amazing. I used the summer one on the Ford Fiesta and was very comfortable. Shame the post office lost it, when I posted it.

After checking all the usual sources, I can't see stock anywhere ... have you thought about a 350?

I did ponder for a bit buit think I would go for the liighter 150 instead of the 350 as there would be less overlap with my Pipedream 400. Not pushed to buy so will probably wait
