doing the trans cambrian route in september, taking 3 days to get to mach, the tagging 3 more days on to get to llanwrust.
how good is the trans cambrian. any tips? and photo's anyone.

Nice few days you have planned there Tony.
We used a taxi company to get to the start of the TCW from Mach - easier than train if you are pushed for time. Left the van in the station car park in Mach - no issues.
Roberts café in Dolgellau does great food and coffee on your trip north.
Good cafes/bike shop in Rhyader and time your ride to get to the few shops (good one in Staylittle - near Stu's).

And a version of your return from Mach back up North (although this was going north to south from Conwy to Mach - some on national cycle route). Nice route north on NCR but massive hill after Corris/Aberllefeni... good coast down to Dolgellau after.

I believe there's one part of the route that benefits from a slight diversion. After Rhayader the route takes you on a boggy bridle way past the reservoir rather than picking up the tarmaced lane at the other side.

I'm sure someone will be able to tell you specifically.

If it's the bit I'm thinking of, the lane and the BW run pretty much side by side and the lane is the most obvious thing on the ground. The BW works much better in the opposite direction*.
