Going to build a OO Scandal with their carbon tube 29er fork. Have a hub but was going to stick a 29+ on the front (if the Rooster ever turns up it might go onto that as well). Know nothing about 29+ Rims so would welcome suggestions.

I like Stan's rims and the Hugo looks interesting. For no other reason except Stan's have worked fine for me in 26 and 29 incarnations me so far. Think Charliethebikemonger has them for £110 (ouch!).

Recommendations for tyres as well, bearing in mind it's not a "real" 29+ fork?

After 2,200 miles I recently changed from North Paws to Hugo's as I can now run my Knards tubless.
So, far so go and one thorn pulled out the other day that sealed as it should, where as with tubes it would have caused a trailside repair.

Knards for dry and tarmac
Chronicles for slightly muddier conditions

I've been using a Velocity Dually, set up tubeless without too much trouble and has remained grief free since. Mine came via Keep Pedalling.

I did many miles on dually with knard tubeless. They were a poor show took get up at the start and I bd e c failed since.

I used the pop bottle inflation trick. Soap ed up.

Inflated a chronicle 120 tpi on the same dually. Super easy. Better off road. Bit not as better as it's sometimes hailed.

I use a Knard on a Flow, mainly because I'm cheap. It seems to work well, and sealed tubeless easily.

But Dually's are more for making 29ers fatter.

Are you confusing a Dually with a P35 (or whatever they're called now) John? The outside to outside of a Dually is 45mm.

Is there really a difference? Blinking flip, MTB and "standards"

Given I want to run it on a "regular" 29er frame (and I'm still skeptical whether I'll ever see the Rooster) a Dually is sounding like the front runner.

I have used p35/blunt and Rabbit Holes. The p35 light and easy to set up tubeless but gives the knard a more rounded profile and doesn't make the most of 29+ IMO. Cant complain about the rabbit holes with tubes either. Never tried tubeless with them but most people seem to manage to set them up gheto tubeless using gorilla tape or split tubes. I also like the look of the cut outs with rim tape showing on the RH

I have just bought a Dually though for a 27.5+ project. Was going to get a Hugo but read mixed reviews on the them. Forums seemed to report that first batch suffered from weak sidewalls with rock strikes righting them-off. Think they sorted issue now but its added weight to the rims, taking them closer to 700g. Dually not a bad weight or price for width and seems to get thumbs up from most people.
