My girlfriend and I are used to lightweight camping. We also like to ride mtb and road bikes.

My GF has declared she would like to do a 4-5 day bikepacking adventure in the uk. We live in N Wales and she fancies going somewhere new to ride. She is at her happiest riding landrover tracks or gentle single track in the wilds. She is competent at a trail centre, but a red run would cause her some stress.

So can anyone recommend either an adventure as outlined above or a resource where we can read and plan?

Wild camping is great for us, but the ability to resupply for food at intervals would be fabulous. We are happy to travel, lakes, scotland etc.

Im not sure if im unhinged, but the idea of the Cairngorm loop over 4-5 days looks like it may be fun?

Great Orme to the Gower

The cairngorm loop would be pretty much what you describe. Except for a few more technical section. But over 5 days you could take your time and push those bits.

If you want to consider other not so tech routes the Pennine bridleway would tick those boxes. Certainly less techy than the CL. It is a bit linear though. Trains are available though.

Im quite liking the loop idea. Im vaguely familiar with the Cairngorms having winter climbed there as a much younger man.

Is there one 1:25000 sheet that covers it all?

The site for the Cairngorm loop is a bit sparce on info. Are their any better rosources for tips and blogs? Or is it just google and read through?

There's a description of the Cairngorm loop in Scotland The Wild Trails. That book also has a Coast to Coast ride that might be worth a look, Fort William to Montrose.

The BMC map by Harveys pretty much covers the whole of the Cairngorms. Great route and has as been said, with that much time the stuff you aren't comfortable riding you can push, plus you get lots of time for pictures etc.
I am in Aviemore so if you need a place to store gear/car etc just give me a shout. Happy to chip in with ideas too if you need /want any.
