I have two whole weekends free coming up over the next few weeks, and am looking to get out for both, any suggestions for rides would be much appreciated. i fancy doing something that isn't the wales or the peaks for a change but am having a mental block as to what i actually want to do... preferably not a 3 hour + journey from sheffield, but somewhere a little bit different

Lake District? There's tons of fantastic stuff up there.

google maps is saying 3 hrs to ambleside from my house - always feels further away than that though! worth a thought though

How about north Wales (or better still north east) rather than Bear Bones land ... some very interesting / enjoyable stuff.

I will be heading over to Wales for the teddy bear bones with the boys soon - but thats no excuse not to consider the north eastern bit

Looking like I have the 6th/7th weekend and the 20/21st weekend free atm - i would have the last weekend in May but think I will be at a party on the Saturday night - may be able to squeeze in a quick Friday night though as the party is up near Bradford (and they are close friends so wouldn't mind me turning up early and borrowing their shower! ).

I am Colchester - Essex. Everything worth doing some riding is miles away...but I can get to North Yorkshire in under 4 hours as it's just a blast up the A1 - and I fancy exploring the area.
