Looking for a big shaped tarp to take the place of the tent-with-a-tarp-over-it combo I bin rockin' for longer tours. I like a lot of space and height - enough to recline in a chair and cook under cover and spread my stuff out.
Something like the MSR Twing looks like it might do the trick though its pricey. Anyone used one? Anything else I should be looking at?
Cheers
Tim

Around 1kg for the tarp would be ok. Been looking at the Rig21 and other big tarps but really looking for something shaped for easier pitching. Ive got a 4x4 DD tarp that we use for family camping usually as a porch off the side of the car or van.

MLD Trailstar is roomy and can be set high. If you want / need even more room then there's the Big Star.

At a kilo, though can be made lighter with a little trimming, the ex-mod
Desert pattern ones can be a bargain, can be found for less than £20,
Not shaped though but very tough.Only in/out of service since 2008 ish they
Tend to have very little use
