Buying 2nd hand from the States....charges???

If I buy something 2nd hand from the States from a private sale what charges are there likely to be? Any ideas anyone?!

I've never had to pay anything before but much will depend how it's sent (which company) and exactly what the seller writes on the customs declaration. Best thing is it comes over as a birthday present from your dear old aunt Mable

This might be of some help. It will show what you will be liable to, however it depends if your parcel from Aunt Mable gets intercepted or not.....

I've just recieved one from the states today, not from my Aunt, no fees.
