All i have left is to procure myself a bike, that is up to the task of doing something other than trials.

Im looking at a 29er (i think) as im 6ft tall, and think i could get the most out of one. I also like the sound of a big Triangle in the frame, for more space. I've been riding a long time, but not in this field so i reckon you guys will be able to give me a much better idea of what would suit me. All i have at the moment, is a 29er HT in mind.

I am on sort of a budget, so would preferably looking for something used.

If you are looking at a 29er and on a budget for bike packing as long as it's not too technical a trail, I would say that you should be looking for something rigid up front maybe with a bigger volume tyre 2.3" or above.

Doesnt sound like a bad shout to be honest, i could always slap on some forks later down the line anyway.

Could you point me in the right direction dude any names spring to mind?

Around £300 i reckon. Depends how much a bargain gets thrown at me.

hi man,think its important to not get too snowed under with all the technical specifications of various bikes out there.After all any bike will do ,the important thing is to just get out there and do it.Might be worth looking if there are any bike recycling schemes in your fair city.There is plenty of bargains to be had out there.Happy hunting.
