If you're not off to Strathpuffer, and you've nothing better to do, you can follow the race here - http://lappedenduro2.sportident.co.uk/h ... 7ee202b37f

Tom Seipp in the solo category is the one to watch.

Andy Hutch was 2nd home in last years HTR - that's his home turf so he should do ok.

Is this gonna be the last year? Or was that just a rumour?

Shall watch with interest, have a friend solo-ing (David Forrest) and a team of friends who's team name I don't know.

I'm soloing too, looking forward to it. I was speaking to Andrew today about it. Hopefully good conditions but we shall see...

Based on weather and recent snow fall I reckon a fatbike will win it this year

Hi Rich.

Wish Tom the best of look from all the Marple riders. He's our little champ!

I reckon the fatbike advantage could disappear after a few laps once it all clears or packs down.

Be honest, a clear line always gets made every year, even when the fire road climb is sheet ice I didn't bother with spikes coz it slowed you down too much for the rest of the lap (although I always bring them with me!)

What a great performance from Tom (and Rich).

Rich - Was he serious about doing the HTR in the Easter holidays?

What a great weekend. Nice to catch up with some folk from here.

Tom won the trophy for best U19 rider.

Strathpuffer stats 10 laps, 64.9 miles, 8000 feet of climbing.

That'll be our longest ride this year so far.

An amazing effort for such a young lad :-bd

I see from the results that he beat ScotRoutes too...

Amazing effort from the young Mr Pipps and an equally large clap for the elder Mr Pipps for inspiring his son so well. I've massively failed on that account.

I always think any Puffer finisher deserves a big hand but to do that at 9 is pretty unique. That's 100 miles or so he did, right? (later edit, just read the blog - not quite but relative to others and the conditions, no less of an achievement)
We did a local 24hr challenge MTB event in the 90s, I was 17 I think. I also had 4hrs kip and break time over the 24hrs and I'm not sure if we did more than 100 miles, probably not. I was done in at college the next day or 2. And we could have been schooled by a lad from jnr school : ) Brilliant.
