A Q' for the Hammockers - Top and Under Quilts - Worth It?

Post by Cheeky Monkey »

Looking at the sale (which ends tonight) on UKHammocks site I'm wondering whether it's worth splashing nearly £250+ on their "lighter" TQ and UQ combo. Would be to go on a Hennessey Expedition Asym which, although I've had it for a little while, has had an embarassingly small amount of use

Any thoughts from those with experience of this sort of stuff.

TBH I'm quite a warm sleeper and I'm wondering whether it'd be more cost efficient / versatile to get a decent lightweight down bag and maybe just the UQ.

Ta in advance.

The sales looks quite good looking at it.

The UQ isn't a full length UQ though which stopped me getting one. In my HH I have a 1.8m quilt which is just right for extending from just above the head to just below the feet so I suspect the uk hammocks one is prbabloy good for covering the knees to shoulders, which isnt too bad as you can use a stuffsac pillow or wear a hat to keep your head warm but you'll need a foam mat for your feet.

I have a HH supershelter that id part with if your interested in that.

Then a down bag would be all you'd need.

The top quilt looks good though.

Yep, was aware of the potential issues from a 2/3rds UQ but wasn't anticipating using it in the grimmer/colder months. Main aim was looking to save bulk and weight (for bike packing) over a Fairydown pit (c.1.2kg) and a Alpkit Wee Airic mat.

Let me know what you'd be after for the supershelter. I'm in a regular length, zipped Exped' Asym (I know there are a couple of sizes specific to model). Is it the one where the ends open?

Oh (and if I'm not enough ) can you get back to me before 11:59 tonight, just so I can keep my options open with UKhammocks sale
