Wow!
After driving all day from London to Mach I think the weather/riding conditions can most optimistically be described as:
Fresh
Lively
Rewarding
Should be an interesting weekend!!!

Am waiting for the Wynnsty Arms to open and the van is being blown around like nothing. I believe the correct term would be a brisk breeze is blowing.

Shall I bring my spinnaker?

I think a storm sail rather than a spinnaker would be in order or a handkerchief.

It was like this last night but wetter, in fact the wind was strong enough to lift the bike off the ground and out of your hands while pushing

You need more kit on the bike than to weigh it down or just get a fat bike instead.

You mean Royston Vassey.....
I've just booked in and I'm very scared.
Please come over to the bar NOW and protect me.
I hope the bothy tomorrow night doesn't smell as damp as room 3.....

Quick weather update: It's quite grim at present, still very windy / rainy but it's set to get less rainy by 10ish ... although it may still be windy

Looks dry over here in west Salop...with reports of 57Kph winds. Sounds like it too. Get the feeling there might be a few downed trees to climb over today.

Can't quite force myself out of bed.
Who knows when the next time I'll be warm, dry and well rested well be?

I take it all back - the weather was perfect today!
Unfortunately when I got to Dolgellau I found out I'd forgotten my joystick (though I've got a niggling feeling I was wearing it and that it's popped off somewhere), forgotten my rear light and that my headtorch had been on in my bag all day and was flat.
So.....no night riding to the bothy for me.
I had no choice but to book into a hotel, have a bath and am now sat waiting for my Jalfrezi (with garlic naan and pilau rice) to arrive.
Such is life!

I was eating my peppered streak with an Innis and Gun beer and was thinking of you chaps out there in the cold and dark.
Me thinks it was all planned Gairy

It was on your helmet (although pointing backwards) when you were talking to me just before you set off.

Backwards you say?
Sounds about right.
Damn it, that was brand new (Rutlands had 'em on sale).

As every thing I attempt will illustrate - I don't have the smarts to plan something like this!
Weirdly I just got lucky today (no injuries, yet!) in that my stupidity only cost me money instead of flesh.
