Grid ref to waypoint conversion.

Due to my (massively lazy) idea for this coming weekends Ford Fiesta I've not had anything to do or plan but now that things are looming closer I've realised that I don't know how to plot waypoints (in base camp or via any other methods) given only the grid references that Stu supplied.

Any advice?

I just used this then clicked the "Export points to google earth (KML) file" button. Then i converted the KML to a GPX file with this http://kml2gpx.com/ so now i can just put them onto my GPS like i would a route normally :-bd

http://www.satmap-xpedition.com/Home/About allows you to search for locations by grid reference, you can then add a 'Point of Interest' and export all POI's as a GPX.

The problem is that I plan to manually add each waypoint to my Garmin 'Forerunner 310XT' (which annoyingly has no upload capabilities).

This means that I need to convert the grid references to whatever format a waypoint exports as and then input it for each waypoint (replacing waypoints I create automatically on the device).

It's a long-winded and roundabout way of doing things but I don't know of another that'll work for random (route-less) waypoints to be added for that device.

Annoying!

Gairy the gridreference finder link above does all this does all this?

Unless I am really misunderstanding something you need to edit existing waypoints because you have no way of uploading or creating ones?

Yes, that's exactly it.

I'll have to have another go at that site as I couldn't make sense of it before.

Cheers, Gairy.

Thanks - much help, cheers!

All I need to do now is figure exactly I manually alter the existing waypoints on the device (bloody user-un-friendly Garmin devices!!!).

I couldn't get the bloody thing to work so have scrapped my idea and am doing something more conventional.

Thanks all for the attempts at helping but my technological incompetence knows no bounds.
