Just starting into bikepacking and testing kit

Hi all,

Been cycling for many many years. Mainly as a MTBer and a cycle commuter to work everyday.

Hopefully going to try my hand at some bikepacking and getting some kit together for the bike. I already have most outdoor and camping bits as I already dabble in this.

This was my recent outing on cannock chase with my one one inbred with front Dynamo hub and alpkit gear.
Well I will try and add a picture when I work out how to make it work.

Thanks

Thanks for that.

Could I just ask, can I upload pictures directly or do I have to use an external photo site?

I have tried to attach but the picture is too large?

Things tend to work better if you host the pictures on an external site like flickr, etc.

You need to grap the BBCode from flickr (that curved arrow on the bottom right)
Then delete the ', on Flickr' bit at the end

What I find strange is that I am using the Flickr app and use the copy url at the bottom.

I then try to copy into this post and it does not give me the option to paste only the option to select or select all.

For some reason selecting copy url in Flickr won't allow me to paste into this post, it's like the copy is not working?

I have to copy the link in the flicker app, then paste in browser then copy this, then paste into this post? As below

So can't see any ', on this above??

:geek:
Copying the URL just copies the web page link, and when you post that in here it just posts the link.

If you want the image you need the BBCode. It looks like you can only do that via Flickrs web page

I live in the area, takes me 15 mins to get to marquis drive visitor centre.

At the moment I am just trying to fit the wildcat bar bags, I might post a picture to my Flickr site, I've given trying to put on here as I do not have access to a comp at the moment.

Oh, I've managed to post a pic, I am shocked.

The only thing I don't like is the position of the light, will get loads of light back in my face from the top of the bag. Would be good to pace light beneath the bag if possible, maybe on the fork somehow.

And a picture of my Dynamo SP hub. I have this wired up to a power monkey or other battery and then power my light or my iPhone which I use with view ranger as a GPS.

Yes, one of these, mine's mounted above the stem. Lifts the light nice and high over the top of luggage.
