How do you keep yer bits warm?

Strange question, or maybe not so much...

I understand the use of mats in insulating from the ground (as well as comfort) and select accordingly.
I understand the use of a sleeping bag or quilt

i also understand the use of down jackets in pushing the temperature range of a sleep system and regularly use mine to do so.

However, in the 'pant' area, i generally just pack a pair of ordinary boxers to sleep in. But being a new user of quilts, will this leave me a little chilly on those colder nights?

Any advice from people on light weight, packable, warm, comfy bottoms coverer's to use?

I wear merino helly hansen tights and use a quilt too... Never been cold.

Unless it's tropical, tights of a weight to suit the weather.

Keeps everything else relatively clean too.

Lidl baselayers, pack down to not much, dry quickly, stop all the crap off your legs spoiling the bag. Having said that I usually have a silk liner too which packs down even smaller and weighs even less.......

I just keep on the cycling pants/bibs. Often I get into very thin compression stockings I got from a hospital. They weigh 40 g and just about cover the knee. Ideal with knee length bibs.

It's the heels that I struggle to cycle in.

On the HTR I had some thin tights (I don't recall the denier  )

It was sweaty down there.

HH merino tights for me too, plus silk liner. Don't know how anybody can sleep in cycling shorts - my bum needs plenty of post ride admin to stop it from turning into a massive sore!
