Shimano slx and xt

Post by welshwhit »

Quick question,

Building up my new bike over the next month or so, but want to still have 2 bikes....

Looking at groupsets, some good buys to be had. I currently have XT, do you reckon I'll notice a difference with the SLX kit?

Thanks

Probably not but I have heard that xt gear shifters are snappier with a shorter throw on the triggers.

I have generally always thought SLX was much better value and for long time agreed about the shifters on XT being the only noticeable thing different. However the last SLX group set I bought for the lurcher I keep having to remind myself they are SLX shifters because they feel that good. In short I would go SLX if I was you.
