Is it possible to buy a down jacket that works for let's say £50 or a warm jacket I'm coming to the winter bivi and maybe the ford fiesta event and got nothing to keep warm.

Seen these mentioned on other forums, believe they're ok for the price, not tried them myself

I've always been impressed by Primaloft synthetics if that helps with the budget. I've got a uniqlo gilet which is good.

Cheap option, though bulky, is the army softie jacket (there are trousers too)
It's warm but it's synthetic and designed to be robust so it's not as light as a down option but is good nonetheless. Uniqlo and h&m have cheap down options but they won't be massively warm

I got one of these as I couldn't justify spending big bucks on a down jacket. Have to say for the money I think it's pretty decent.
Karrimor Down Jacket.

I have the hooded version of this jacket which cost about £60 and as Fired says they're OK for the money.

I've got a Nike Down BodyWarmer, used it on the first ever Winter Bivvy
(the proper hardcore one that Stu & Taylor reckon their testicles went down to -273, absolute b0llocks if you ask me!

)
Anyway, I don't use it and would happily part with it. It's alright(ish) just aint a RAB

I've got a Uniqlo gilet. It packs to nothing and is pretty warm. Not a patch on something like a Rab but a good bit of kit for the money.
I also have a Karrimor down jacket and again it's worth the £60 I paid. Very warm and packs pretty small.

I got one of these also. Whilst it was OK, quality is not so hot (i know get what you pay for etc), it leaks feathers wherever I go. Zips are sticky and not working so good, thankfully the main zip is OK. Trying to justify buying something better, but cant until i wear this one a bit more
If you have not got one in a few weeks, you can have a looky at mine when were out on the winter bivi

Buy one in July or August - there are usually some great deals from the usual outdoor kit outlets. I got a mountain hardware lightweight down jacket for £60 a couple of years back

Trespass Stormer men's down jacket £150 now £75
Sizing comes up spot on, crazy light, compacts well, good size hood, water repellent,
80% down/20% feather, warms up quick and you forget you've got it on, smashing
