Ooops ... you'll be upset to discover that entry to this years WRT has risen to *£16 then :o

* To cover the paypal fees and an increase in T shirt prices.

Polaris used to be such a good event. However, I feel that the tide has gone out on it a bit - investment in the event has been minimal in recent years, plus the scheduling of events has been eratic, leading to some being cancelled at short notice. Now they're trying to rekindle interest they're faced with low entry numbers and need to levy a high entry fee to cover costs, so people are put people off.

I thought it might be 'fun' to bikepack a 24 hour race. I haven't done one in years, I couldn't handle the tedium anymore, I know it's part of the game but even so. Seems like it'd be a much better experience to set off loaded, stop and brew up when you're ready, get your head down for a few hours in the woods, etc. I really don't believe you'd be any slower than those 'racing' who can't decide their left from their right when they try to pass ... like your team finishing 453th rather than 454th really matters ;)

Why not just a long weekend point to point ride, all invited?
Doesn't have to be a weekend in Wales either.

Looking to do PBW this year but suspect I will need a third day. A lot of climbing and I am not so good at that.

Sept may not work too well for me, but I'd be up for a PB trip if by chance it falls right :)

I'd be up for a PB ride in Sept.

I could stay at the in laws at either end of the ride.

Do something like the TD did last year.
Have half start at one end then the other half start from the other end of a coast to coast maybe, then there's less problems with trains home.

I'll volunteer to be a knobo.

Sorry that should read northbounder.

I'm back in blighty in late-April/early-May and so if anyone was interested in doing something then (PBW or something/somewhere else) then I'd be well up for a ride with some of you fine folks (I need as many 'training' trips to prepare for the Alps as possible between now and July).

huh???
