Was all set to go out this weekend and get my Oct bivy-a-month ticked off.

Change of circumstances mean I'm home alone with the girls and they don't want to travel but would be prepared to bivy in the garden!

What do you reckon... will it still count?

According to Alan Goldsmith himself, who bivvied in my garden just the other month, "a bivvy is a bivvy, doesn't matter where it is", or words to that effect


edit: I should add (mainly for my benefit) that I did offer him a space in the house, but being the hardened chap that he is, he declined.

I'd say yes,as you're outside and things that go bump in the night can still find you*

In all reality its a challenge you set yourself, to see if you can do it. Theres no real rules so you cant really break them.

In these situations i'd ask yourself, what would Mr Goldsmith do? (the barometer of being a hard bastard) If its good enough for him, its good enough for you*.

Just dont make a habit of it

ok decided that a garden bivy wasn't quite enough

didn't get out over the weekend but if I'm lucky I might be able to sneak out tonight for a quickie!
