Non-droopy torch mount

I've got a really good cree torch that I use for night riding but the bar mount is one of those double velcro strap things and eventually droops.

Is there anything better out there or a decent homebrew solution? And no jokes about homebrew causing the droop please, I've had a long day.

Cut a thin strip of old inner tube and wrap that round too. Hold that in place with a zip tie. Should stop it moving.

Any screw on one will do it, ebay is full of real cheap ones.

Alternativeley if it happens to be the same size as the exposure lights get their helmet mount. It's not cheap but it is vaguely exciting.

Does the torch have enough metal to drill and tap a few threads into it? Exposure sell both their qr mount and the bolt-on 'wedge' that fits in (found on the bottom of the Toro, Revo etc.)

Remove the velcro strap that goes round the bars from your current mount and replace with a removable zip tie that you can tighten considerably more. No more drooping. :-bd

No problem! Used my lockblocks with removable zip ties for years with Fenix torches, Joysticks, a Diablo and others, so its well tested. :geek:

Some of the lockblock copies don't have the softest rubber in the world

Use something grippy inside (silicon sealant, piece of silicon, rubber band) and that will also help massively

If it's a long slender torch, try this tip I got from the interwebs: use one of those rubber donor bracelets (Livestrong etc.) looped under the bar and across the front and back ends of the light. I've also put a ring of spare inner tube rubber around the torch as a sleeve so I don't get metal on metal at the bar/torch interface.
