that new alpkit cooking stuff...

A wee preview link appeared in my inbox last night of the new cooking stuff - got to say it looks pretty interesting. :ugeek: None of it looks to be super ultralight, but Alpkit stuff is normally a reasonable price - no prices yet as it's just a look.

The stoves and integrated heat exchanger pots look very familiar  , and having a pot that has that, but doesn't need a specific stove seems pretty nice. Budget Jetboil basically.

The Concertina windshield looks awfully like something else as well - nicer colours though and it looks taller.

Most looking at the Chainset though - for hanging (only) Alpkit's new pans over a fire. Not really sure how practical it is tbh but it looks fun and "light on weight, high on fiddle factor" made me smile.

Edit - wouldn't a link be nice?

but they are no longer stocking normal ti cups or mugs, which I think is an odd decision - these sell for more than RRP on eBay when not in stock at Alpkit

Where does it say they aren't stocking them? "new MytiMug combo" would suggest they're bringing them back as a pair or something?

in that case, hoping for a mug with coated handles

Much of the new stuff is re-branded Fire Maple ... nothing wrong with that (it's good stuff) but nothing that exciting either. If the price is right, I can see the Jet Boil clone proving very popular.

Pure speculation but if there's a Mytimug / cup combo I imagine it might look something like the Snow Peak solo or the Evernew solo (below).
