I'm unsure what the unwritten rules are around that flash sale discount site that covers many different sporting pursuits, but they've got a Rab sale on at the moment.

Crucially, they've got the Module top bag for £70, so I've picked one up as a lighter alternative to my Cumulus bag. 530g is pretty good going, so combined with Neo Air and bivi I'm looking at around 1100g all-in.

I always thought the Module was a bit portly for a bag with 100g of down and no zip or hood. I imagine the weight might be a result of the Primaloft beneath the legs?

Those Microlight Alpine Jackets are a bargain, really like mine. I was hoping they would have the vest version for sale there but unfortunately not.

Yeah, that and the bungees etc underneath. I don't think Rab's bags are particularly light for their temperature rating though.

The hood I can live with though - it seems to have a drawstring at the top so I can cinch that up around me and then put my bivi hood over that.

OK, first impressions of the Module 100:

The material used seems quite heavy, and the drawstrings are bulkier than they need to be. I'm going to see if I can pare the weight down a bit, but it still seems a good weight and size for the price. The true test will be an October bivi...
