I'm looking to buy a new sleeping mat but can't decide between these two. I'm leaning towards the Neoair as it's lighter and packs smaller. What's everyone's views on these mats? What are the pros and cons of each?

Dunno about t'other but I am very happy with Xlite - Small, light, comfortable and warm. It is lighter and I prefer horizontal than vertical baffles. It is a bit spendy but I got it for about £85 with Go Outdoors 10% price guarantee

edit: worth noting that the Xlite is noisy, like sleeping in a crisp pasket

Hi, first post here but have been lurking a while.

I can't recommend the Neo air enough, fabulous bit of kit and packs up so small. It is a bit crinkley but it's never stopped me sleeping and once I'm in my bag I never notice it. For added comfort I also use the Mamut inflatable pillow, only a tenner at GO and it's super tiny.

To be fair they are fairly similar and i dont think you'd wrong with either option.

I have a Neoair (one of the earlier versions). Its had a lot of use and abuse, its never let me down and i'd buy another. Stu has the Exped and would say the same.

I have a UL7 and it is brilliant, I got it cheap with the pillow and I have not looked back, I can't compare as I have never tried the Neoair.

Neoair very warm and comfy and packs reasonably small - haven't tried exped.

Just remember that when compating weights / pack sizes between the two, you're not actually comparing like for like ... the S Exped is much bigger than the S Neo-air, the Exped's pretty much a full size mat.

but aren't the normal sized ones about the same size each?

Exped synmat 7 - I think the larger diameter tube's on the outside really help in not rolling off it. this is great fo me as I tend to shuffle about a fair bit when sleeping. Its also really comfy and im a big fan of the flat valves (had two multimats fail on extruding valves before). I haven't used in winter so cant comment on its warmth.

recently used ny neoair in a tent, kept rolling off, not a problem in a bag though
